Day 130, Mizpah Spring Hut

I was on trail by 7am and we hiked to Mizpah Hut another AMC operated hut where we camped on one of the wooden tent platforms. The hiking day was shortened due to expected thunderstorms and the fact that we were hiking on exposed mountain ridges during the day. The hiking today was difficult as most of the trails in the Whites are and I was making about 1.5 miles in an hour. We reached the hut prior to the rain and got setup for the night then took advantage of leftovers from the hut to add calories to our diet. During the night the rain came in and the other hiker on the tent platform had to get up serval times to secure their tent since the stones they used to hold the tent lines gave way to the strong winds.
