Day 132, Gorham NH

Latitude: 44.38748 Longitude: -71.172073
We got up and out of the hut by 6:30 to begin our 9 mile hike to the road to Gorham NH. The hike started straight up and over Mt Madison which was steep, rocky and required the use of your hands on the way up and down the mountain. I find the trail is very difficult but the views are incredible and worth the effort. Once the trail got down to the tree line it began to get better and within 2 miles of the road it was an easy stroll thru the woods. I got to the Pinkham Notch Visitor Center around 11:45 and had lunch while waiting for Lazarus to arrive. We called for a shuttle and got picked up around 2:30pm to head to the Hostel. My day continued with a trip to the Verizon store to get a replacement phone for the one that got damaged on Mt Washington and then a resupply and dinner at a barbecue restaurant topped off with ice cream.
