Day 149, Monson Maine

It rained throughout the night and in the morning so I grabbed my bear canister and heated some water at my tent for a mocha coffee to go with my morning breakfast bars while waiting for the rain to stop. We got underway around 8:30 for our 6mile hike to the 100 mile wilderness llc campsite which has cabins for $25/night. This place is nice but a bit outside of town so we will be staying 2 nights here then moving into town to stay at Shaws Hostel one of the last hostels on the trail with perhaps the best resupply on the trail. We visited Shaws to setup a 3 day 45 mile slack pack in the 100 mile wilderness specifically the Chairback mountains after which the trail flattens out until Katahdin.
