Day 27, Whistling Gap

Late start on the day 10 AM looking to get to the whistle gap campsite at 13.5 miles from the shelter. When I got up this morning there was snow on the ground and it continued to snow off an on through most of the day. When I crossed Big Bald Mountain there was almost a white out due to the high winds thankfully there were tall post marking the trail. By the time I got to the campsite the snow about 4 inches deep and there was only one other tent . I setup camp fast and dove into my sleeping bag to stay warm and started to look forward to going into Erwin Tennessee in the morning to dry out, shower, resupply, and charge the electronics and of course have a beer and real FOOD.
