Day 28, Uncle Johnny's Cabin
Latitude: 36.10572 Longitude: -82.44853
The morning started off cold just like the 9th ended my shoes were frozen solid. I broke down camp and got underway by 730. The ground was covered by snow and the trail was hard to follow. I was always happy to see a white blaze on a tree letting me know I was still on the trail. I got to pass high rocks cliff which was a great rock formation and a challenge to hike around given the snow. Once I crossed the top I could see snow free hills on the other side of the valley. The day got warmer and by the time I approached Erwin the snow was gone and I was taking in the river views and the small town of Erwin. I tented at Uncle Johnny’s and had Dominos deliver a Large Pepperoni pizza, Stuffed bread with cheese, bacon, and Jalapeños plus 8 piece buffalo wings that was added to the two fat boy ice cream sandwiches plus two sprites and a Gatorade-then it was the hiker Starbucks birthday so I finished the night with a piece of carrot cake and a little white wine. Hiker Hunger is a real thing! I resupplied for the next three days to the next resupply.
