Day 30, Roan High Knob Shelter

Today is a big day in two ways-first its my son Grants Birthday as he leaves his teens behind him and starts his 20’s and second todays elevation gain is above 5200 in 17.6 miles ending at Roan High Knob Shelter-elevation 6279ft which is the highest shelter on the AT. I arrived at the shelter and during the day my phone began to give up the ghost from all the moisture from the rain I’ve been hiking in all day it must have gotten thru the cracked screen and started to kill the phone. The Roan High Knob shelter was nice it had two levels and a door. I cooked dinner inside and shared the space with 4 other guys they were an interesting bunch Firebrand had a bottle of fireball he was sharing-non for me not sure about a community bottle😬.
