Day 36, Damascus, VA

This mornings hike into town was chilly and wet. I got into town at 10 and my first stop was the outfitters for a new pair of hiking shoes! My second stop was lunch at the diner where I got a cheese burger with fries a salad coffee,orange juice a beer and a lemon desert. I sat there for two hours killing time till our AirB&B opened for me to enter the house. I left the diner at 1330 and visited the dollar general for some new reading glasses-getting old sucks sometimes. Well it was 1400 and the distillery tasting room opened so its cold outside and warm in the tasting so tasting it is! I sat with 2 other hikers and tried a couple of their bourbon drinks and talked to the owners son who was tending bar on how they started the company-a hobby that went legit. I got the text the house was ready so went there to shower and start laundary before Shelly arrived-maybe two showers🤪. Shelly arrived YEA! Hugs and kisses dogs too then food must feed hiker hunger.
