Day 49, Sarver Hollow Shelter

Latitude: 37.354835 Longitude: -80.337396
I woke up at 3am and was able to check the weather and the predicted rain wasn't supposed to start until 2pm so wet items were hung with hopes they would dry. Late start 6am hot breakfast hot chocolate with two starbucks packets taken with pop-tarts and protein bar. I packed-up and on trail at 8:41. Hiked 17.6 today stopping at Sarver Hollow Shelter which was .4 miles down hill from the AT the morning hike back to trail will be hard. There were 4 other hikers here but they were in tents when I arrived so I had the shelter to myself and any mice that made it their home. So this shelter is one of the nicest I’ve been in with a covered porch and table a good water source and privy-what more could a hiker ask for? There were ruins consisting of old log building some stone walls and two large stone fireplaces that appeared to be apart of an old home-duplex?
