Day 70, Whiskey Hollow Shelter

I had breakfast at the hostel and was dropped off at the trail head at 9-a late start on the day. Today I saw the largest snapping turtle ever sitting in the middle of the trail-I gave him some space and continued down the trail. There are thunderstorms in the forecast today so I was hoping to make it 16 miles to the Whiskey Hollow Shelter before the storm arrives. I made with thunder nearby and then the down pour 15 minutes after I dropped my pack.
