Day 82, Peter's Mountain Shelter

Today was a big day 22.3 miles. The day started early at 5:50 hiking into Duncannon PA for a 3 day resupply and town food at “The Pub”-so burger, beers and fries. The trail went right thru town crossed the railroad tracks at a non crossing and proceeded to take me up to the top of the next ridge where one of my hiking poles came apart😟. I had a fall two days earlier and I guess the carbon poles suffered a crack that took 2 days to cause a failure of the pole. I ended up using 2 tent stakes and duct tape to make a splint so I could continue to hike thru the rocks until I could get new poles-my tent requires hiking poles to set it up. I ended the day at Peters Mtn Shelter a 9 mile day with early afternoon showers.
