Day 9, Rock Gap

We checked the weather for the day and decided to push big miles 19.7 mile to Rock Gap to catch a ride with Bobby the Greek to Franklin NC where we stayed at the Gooder Grove Hiker Hostel. Along the way we had a rock scramble rewarded with a fire tower from which to take pictures of the surrounding mountains. Gooder was an interesting establishment- I slept on a couch had clothes washed and was told to wash my hands at least 10 times in 7 hours-everyone was reminded repeatedly. We had beers at the Lazy Hiker Brewing Co. Beer was great and rock fire pit inviting. The night ended with papa johns pizza and Jalapeño pepper and bacon cheese stuffed bread-leftovers saved for lunch.
